Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding trains specialist of marine industry.

The university was established in 1920 and located in the city of Mykolaiv, Central Ukraine.

For more than ninety years of its existence the university prepared more than fifty-five thousand marine specialists for Ukrainian and foreign marine industry. The structure of the university today includes nine institutes, three faculties and its divisions in other parts of Ukraine. The staff consists of seven hundred professors, seventy-seven of whom are Dsc, more than three hundred PhDs and associate professors.

The campus has five academic buildings, two sport-complexes, three student hostels, cafes etc.

The strategic direction of the University is the development of fundamental and applied research aimed at solving current problems of shipbuilding and other related industries.

Its international collaboration is intended for the world educational process with a view to developing international activities, especially among respective foreign educational institutions, therefore the university maintains connections with universities in the USA, Germany, Poland and cooperates with most of the under the framework of international non-governmental organizations working in the field of higher education.

In 2016 the university taught eight forty-five students from all over the world and the number of students willing to study at Admiral Makarov university is constantly increasing.
