VN Karazin Kharkiv National University (KKNU) is a research type institution which was established in 1805 by the prominent scientist Vasyl Karazin. KKNU is the second oldest university in Ukraine after Ivan Franko university in Lviv. KKNU played a significant part in Ukrainian national ‘’renaissance’’ in nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century.
According to Webometrics world ranking, KKNU is the third best university in Ukraine and is a leader under international activity and students quality criteria. The university is also a constant member of 500 best universities in the world list.
University structure consists of twenty-one faculties: biological; computer engineering;philosophy;geography;geology;medicine;economics;linguistics;history;chemistry;sociology;psychology;law;tourism,international business; math; physics; biomedical electronics; radiophysics; Information technologies; One hundred twenty four departments and four research center.
Every year, the university organizes more than 150 international and Ukrainian scientific conferences and keeps developing comprehensive relations with other European higher educational institutions, which are more than one hundred for today.
KKNU is a co-founder of European university association.
